Lately I have been feeling very grateful for the availability of the Bible! We are so blessed to have freedom of religion in our country and to have the privilege of owning a copy of God's Word!! From that I have been prompted to focus this post on Scripture from and quotations about the Word of our God.
~Scripture~
"The Law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul;
The Testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
The Precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
The Commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The Fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
The Judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether.
They are more desirable than gold, yes than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb." ~ Psalm 19:7-10
"Grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever."
~Isaiah 40:8
"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it."
~Isaiah 55:10-11
"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."
~2nd Timothy 3:16-17
"For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
~Hebrews 4:12
~Quotations~
"News articles may inform us.
Novels may inspire us.
Poetry may enrapture us.
But only the living, active, Word of God can transform us."
~Chuck Swindoll
"Within the covers of the Bible are the answers for all the problems men face."
~Ronald Reagan
"The Word of God well understood and religiously obeyed is the shortest route to spiritual perfection. And we must not select a few favorite passages to the exclusion of others. Nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian."
~A. W. Tozer
"A Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn't."
~Charles Spurgeon
